Lorenz Kuhlee

Lorenz Kuhlee comes from Hanau, Germany and learned to square dance at the early age of 14. At 15 he tried out his first singing call. Not much later he was calling for his first club, the Bembel Swingers, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. During his High School years he called for other clubs in the Frankfurt area. The calling bug had caught him and wouldn’t let go!

He soon moved to Karlsruhe to further his education and continued calling for clubs in this region including the Magic Spirits SDC working hard on his knowledge requirements of calling and his occupation in the computer science field.

Lorenz is a member of ECTA and CALLERLAB and has served as the Training Director for the European Caller Teacher Association (ECTA).

In 1995 he created the Square Dance Choreography Computer Programs WinHash and in 1999 WinHashHexigon was also placed on the market. These programs are primarily intended for newer callers but used by many well-established callers throughout the world.

Through the mentorship of Al Stevens, Lorenz was able to make and reach the goal of becoming the first German Accredited CALLERLAB Caller Coach. He actively participates in the education of callers throughout Europe and hopes to continue doing so for many years to come.

He presently calls for the Kaleidoscopers SDC (Plus) and the SchoeneckShufflers SDC (MS). He calls through the A2 level.

Lorenz joined the Global Music Productions recording staff in 2002.
